Abstract
This research examines copyright pledging as a legal transaction pertaining to the moral and financial rights of intellectual works, within the context of the rapidly developing knowledge economy and the increasing economic importance of intellectual property rights. The research aims to clarify the legal concept of copyright pledging, its legal nature, and the extent to which it can be subjected to the provisions of mortgage law, while highlighting its unique characteristic of pertaining to an intangible right. The research also addresses the substantive and formal conditions necessary for the formation of a copyright pledging contract, focusing on the requirements of writing and registration and their impact on the enforceability of the pledge against third parties. Furthermore, the research explores the effects of the pledge contract in terms of the rights and obligations of both the pledgor and the pledgee in fulfilling their respective rights. The research concludes with a set of findings and recommendations that underscore the need for clearer legislative regulation of copyright pledging contracts
